d'Arenberg
The first sniff gives an indication that this is a Grenache of serious depth and structure. Dark cherry and plum stone are the dominate fruit characters with a lovely touch of lavender and violets overlaying cinnamon and nutmeg.
The palate moves from varietal fruit flavours and licorice to savoury elements of charred meats, dried herbs and dark chocolate. The oak influence is subtle and well integrated with charming powdery grippy tannins providing the finish with floral characters lingering.
Tight in its youth with darker elements brooding in the background waiting to emerge decanting will help this wine open up but ultimately it deserves to be cellared for a decade or more.
Wine Spectator
Dark and ripe, with distinctive cherry, floral and exotic spice aromas and flavors that keep going on the long, plump finish. Drink now through 2013.

The medium ruby-colored 2007 The Derelict Vineyard Grenache is redolent of garrigue, lavender, and black cherry aromas. Ripe, smooth, and easy-going, this spicy, cherry-flavored, lengthy Grenache will offer much pleasure over the next 4-5 years.

Wine Enthusiast
The nose of this wine features some delicately lifted floral scents, but also darker notes of brandied cherries and asphalt. Give it some breathing time to let the tarry notes fade and allow the red cherry and cinnamon red-hot flavors to emerge. Finishes long, mouthwatering and just a touch warming. Drink now-2014.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
